This business card for the Village Motel emphasizes the motel's air conditioning and TV service. The motel was located just off US Highway 40 slightly northeast of Highland, Illinois. At the time the motel was owned and operated by Wally and Ruth Nagel, who purchased the motel in 1958 before the construction of I-70 through Highland. It was sold in 1992 and is currently used as apartments. |

Circa 1978 Old Spice Shaving Kit |
This shaving kit was manufactured by the Shulton Company circa 1978, with the Old Spice brand name. The company branded their products with colonial sailing ships, this kit in particular is marked with the ship Recovery. The brush was made with boar bristle. This shaving kit was scanned as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Civic Memorial High School in spring 2019. It was brought to class by Drake Walker. |
