	The Florini Family Opening a Grocery Store in Bethalto in 1937	This photoraph shows Julio Florini, his wife Delfina Florini, and their son Geno Florini opening a grocery store in Bethalto on Spencer Street and near Route 140 in 1937. In 1942, the Florini's converted the location to a tavern named Geno's 140 Club. The restaurant is still open today. 	1940 Winchester Model 1912 Shotgun	This shotgun is a Winchester Model 1912 internal-hammer, pump-action gun with an external tube magazine. The United States military used this type of gun in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The owner of this particular gun used it to hunt geese, deer, squirrels, turkeys, rabbits, and other animals. 	1940s Chinese Paper Money	These seven bills of Chinese paper money were issued in the 1930s and 1940s by either the Bank of China or the Central Bank of China. They were brought to Madison County by an American soldier who was stationed in northern China immediately after World War II. These bills were scanned as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Civic Memorial High School in spring 2018. They were brought to class by the soldier's granddaughter, Dara Parks. 	North China Pictorial Book given to Americans Stationed in China Following World War II	This book, titled "North China Pictorial," was given to each member of the U.S. army who was stationed in China immediately following World War II. It was paid for by Special Services Funds of the 111 Amphibious Corps. The book highlights the people and culture of China for an American audience. This book was brought to Madison County by an American soldier who was stationed in northern China immediately after World War II. Select pages of this book were photographed as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Civic Memorial High School in spring 2018. 	Bethalto, Illinois Telephone Directory, 1951	This directory was printed in 1951 for the Madison Telephone Company subscribers on the Bethalto telephone exchange. It lists the address and phone number for individuals and businesses in Bethalto, along with local advertisements. The first page of the book lists the policies and procedures regarding the use of the telephone system. The directory is printed on heavier paper with a card stock cover. The cover and pages are made of single sheets, bound with two staples.	1951	July 22, 2019
