    Dear Mom & Pop,
Well, how are all the folks back home? Did everyone have a good Thanksgiving? I had a turkey dinner with all the trimmings & that's something aboard ship. I just finished writing Nora a letter. I've been doing a lot of reading since I've been on here. That's all there is to do in your spare time. I've read about every book in the library, I think. Has Bob been called by the Army yet?
Tell Mary to send me some jokes or poems when she writes. She sent me a lot of them when I was at Great Lakes. How is Pop getting along? Everything is O. K. at the mill I presume. Are you still working days? Say, I bet Terry is really getting big. Him and Ronnie will be going round & round one of these days. The food aboard ship is good substantial food, but what I wouldn't give for some of your cooking. Oh boy. Well, I guess I'll have to close since I've filled up one page. Write often. Give everybody my best regards all my love Thomas Eugene Davis Gene
