Incorporated between 1910 and 1920, by 1920 the village of Fairmont city had a population of 1,056.((<a href=\"https:\/\/census.gov\/library\/publications\/1931\/dec\/1930a-vol-01-population.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Fifteenth Census of the United States: 1930, Population Volume I<\/em><\/a> (Washington: Government Printing Office, 1931), 316.))
