These artifacts were brought by students to be scanned as part of a three-day lesson offered by Madison Historical on February 5, 6, and 13, 2020 at Liberty Middle School in Edwardsville. The lesson was given five class periods of students in an American history class taught by Rachel Harris.

1975 Table Cloth with Rose Patches This table cloth was made by Kiymet Kulavuz in Turkey during the 1970's. She had originally embroidered the rose patches herself, and then sewn them onto a table cloth before she got married. She then retired it to her daughter, Derya Kulavuz-Onal (who currently posseses it as of 2020), as a wedding gift in 2005.

1930-1950 Autograph Book Signed by Joe Dimaggio Thia is an autograph book from James Hino. It is bound with blue leather, and has gold lettering and a picture of a Greco-Roman figure on the front. Two brass bands hold it together on the left side. It is signed by Joe Dimaggio.

Cross Necklace from 1960 Lexi Raker's Great Grandmother gave her a very valuable cross necklace soon before she passed away. It's a small, silver cross necklace with the top hook reading: "Amen." The necklace was made circa 1960 in Rome. The necklace is very thin so it is very fragile.

Frank Harles Soda Bottle Frank Harles owned a place called Soda Factory located in Edwardsville, Illinois on Main Street. Frank Harles began his business in 1871. This bottle was produced in his factory. On the bottle, it reads "Frank Harles Edwardsville Illinois."

The Yankee Doodle Boy from Fortuna, California 1983 The article is from Fortuna, CA on June 30, 1983. The article is about Harold C. Ross when he was a soldier in the Mexican Campaign, World War I, and World War II. He lived in California at the time and was well known by many people. It contains a black and white picture displaying him as well.

1912 Harper Brothers Publication of Huckleberry Finn This is a copy of Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn from 1912. It has a green and black cover and inside has the signature of an unknown person.

1949 Argo Flex Camera This is a camera made in 1949, which was purchased in Sweden. The camera is a rectangualar black box with two lenses, one to indicate when a picture is ready to be taken and another for the photographer to look through. On the back of the camera there is a red dot that is transluscent and tells the photographer how much unused film is left in in the reel until. To spin the film the photographer turns the small knob on the right side of the camera that you turn after each picture is taken.

Wooden Mineature Figurine of Marquette Catholic High School in Alton, IL This is a decrative wooden miniature of historic Maruette Catholic High School in Alton, Illinois. Marquette is a Roman Catholic, Co-Ed High School established by the Ursuline sisters in 1927. This was bought as a graduation gift. 1901 Culver Block Brick This is a brick made by Culver Blocks on February 1, 1901. The item was found in Edwardsville, IL. The sides of the brick are chipped and uneven in certain spaces. The Madison County Historial Society used Culver Blocks on their redevelopment of the Plaza between the 1836 Weir Home and the Archival Library in Edwardsville Illinois for historical continuity.

1995 Article about Bill Hyten, The First Superintendent of Triad High School This is a 1995 newspaper article about the first superintendent of Triad School District, Bill Hyten. He also talks about his family and how happy he is to see his daughter for the holidays.
