    Dear Mother,

We arrived all safe at Jackson this morning and a gay time we have had of it. The first night about 10 p.m. the cry of coffee went aboard throughout the barr and I went with the rest and got a cup of chocolate from some ladies that were waiting at a depot with a bucket of chocolate.

Next about 12 the cry of coffee went about and I went with the rest

    Good Bye

    I must go

    E.M. Mudge
