Description

This photograph shows some of the first recipients of a heart transplant at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, today Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Barnes started performing heart transplants in 1985.

This photograph was scanned as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Civic Memorial High School in spring 2019. It was brought to class by Mary Joe Kirby.
