Description

This mortar and pestle was used in the middle of the 20th century by the Miller Pharmacy, located in Granite City. Both the mortar and its pestle are made of brass. The mortar and pestle is signed on the bottom "B. Miller," designating ownership to Bernard Miller, who owned and managed Miller Pharmacy. Bernard Miller used the mortar and pestle to crush medical ingredients as a pharmacist.
