Description

This was a spike used to secure base plates to the railroad in the early 1900's, it is made out of steel that has now rusted over. They were mass produced because of the amount of railroads at the time.

This railroad spike was photographed as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in spring 2020. It was brought to class by Colin Houston.
