Description

This is a dark brown rough hand carved wooden smoking pipe. John R. Dove carved this while he was fighting in the Civil War and he used it for tobacco smoking during his service. Dove served in the Illinois National Guard, 21st infantry.

This wooden pipe was brought in by Quinton Kolnsberg as a part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in February 2020.
