Austin Johnson

Austin Johnson is a History major at SIUE, while also pursuing a high school teacher’s certification and a math endorsement. He is from a small town in Central Illinois, where he developed a love for sports. One day, he hopes to teach high school history and coach baseball. He enjoys studying the history of baseball, as well as geography and post-WWII United States history. Austin worked for Madison County Historical through the URCA program at SIUE in the Spring of 2018. He worked on an article about the history of the Venice High School basketball program and spent time digitizing Edwardsville High School basketball scorebooks from the 1970s and 1980s. He is currently a Junior, and he plans to graduate in the Spring of 2020.
