Hartford

Hartford is a village in Madison County. Prior to their western expedition, Lewis and Clark spent the winter of 1803 to 1804 within the present-day village limits of Hartford. Hartford was incorporated March 9, 1920,1 and by 1930 had a population of 1,566.2 As of the 2010 census, Hartford village has 1,429 residents.3
