Pontoon Beach
Pontoon Beach was incorporated following an election held December 8, 1962. Its name refers to the lakefront of Long Lake, which supposedly once had a sandy beach.((“Origins and Incorporation of Pontoon Beach,” Six Miles of Local History, accessed January 22, 2018.))
