These artifacts were brought by students to be scanned as part of a three-day lesson offered by Madison Historical on February 5, 6, and 13, 2020 at Liberty Middle School in Edwardsville. The lesson was given five class periods of students in an American history class taught by Rachel Harris.

Dove carved this while he was fighting in the Civil War and he used it for tobacco smoking during his service. Dove served in the Illinois National Guard, 21st infantry. "One Step Closer" The 2002 Civic Memorial High School Yearbook | This is a 2002 Civic Memorial High School Yearbook has a hard cover and is purple and gold with eagle prints on the front cover. It contains 208 pages and was created in 2002. The spine reads 'Civic Memorial High Schools Spectator Vol. 51' in gold shiny letters. This document was sold for $34 and the pictures were done by Delmar Studios of Edwardsville, Illinois. This book belonged to Cherise McArthur. This yearbook was brought in by Zoey Grandlund as a part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in February 2020. |

May 21, 2000 issue of The Telegraph, with "Verdict Rocks Shell" Headline | This May 21, 2000 issue of The Telegraph includes the headline article of Edwardsville-Shell Oil Co. which wasn't the process of a lawsuit with one of their employees, a former roofing worker who developed mesotheleoma, an asbestos related cancer while working at the Wood River refinery. The worker sued Shell for $34.1 million according to the article. Hamel State Bank Bicentennial U.S.A Plate | This is a plate from the Hamel State Bank in 1976. This plate bought as a birthday present for a family member of Alex Fox. It was chipped in the process of moving between houses. The plate is over 30 years old and has an American flag with military soldiers on it. 1901 Culver Block Brick | This is a brick made by Culver Blocks on February 1, 1901. The item was found in Edwardsville, IL. The sides of the brick are chipped and uneven in certain spaces. The Madison County Historial Society used Culver Blocks on their redevelopment of the Plaza between the 1836 Weir Home and the Archival Library in Edwardsville Illinois for historical continuity.
