Description

This is a group photograph of enlistees in the US army in 1959. Bethalto resident Kelly Cato is standing in the third row from the bottom and third from the left. Cato graduated from Civic Memorial High School in Bethalto and went on to serve in Okinawa on the missle site where he monitored the East China Sea during the Cold War.

This photograph was scanned as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Civic Memorial High School in spring 2018. It was brought to class by Cato's granddaughter, Mackenzie Cato.
