Pierron is a village in both Bond and Madison counties. Jacques Pierron laid out the village in 1868,((W. T. Norton, ed., Centennial History of Madison County, Illinois, and Its People, 1812 to 1912. (Chicago: The Lewis Publishing Company, 1912), 605; William Henry Perrin, ed., History of Bond and Montgomery Counties (Chicago: O. L. Baskin, 1882), 144.)) and in 1880, Pierron had a population of 73.((Statistics of the Population of the United States at the Tenth Census (Washington: Government Printing Office, 1883), 147.)) As of the 2010 census, the village of Pierron has a population of 600.((Illinois: 2010, Summary Population and Housing Characteristics, 2010 Census of Population and Housing (Washington: Bureau of the Census, 2012), 144.))
