Tomea Kirchoff Oral History Interview This oral history interview with Tomea Kirchoff was part of oral histories conducted in the fall 2001 semester of History 447: Oral History.

Tomea Loman Kirchoff speaks about her childhood, particularly her education, learning English, and her father’s employment at American Steel in Granite City. She discusses the Community Center as well as the Bulgarian-Macedonian Church located in Lincoln Place, as well as other aspects of Macedonian culture that she had experience with. Mrs. Kirchoff additionally speaks to World War II and contributions that women in Lincoln Place made to the war effort.

Train Arriving at the Glen Carbon Train Station Train arrives at the Glen Carbon train station to pick up passengers. Both the Illinois Central Railroad and Clover Leaf railroad provided passenger service to St. Louis several times a day, beginning at 6:00 am. One could spend the say in St. Louis, watch the Veiled Prophet parade, and still catch the 10:10 pm train home. Unknown December 8, 2016

Triad High School Newspaper from May 1996 This is an edition of the "Knightwriter", which was the Triad High School's school newspaper. This certain one is from May 1996 and goes into life at the high school and focuses on the seniors graduating in the spring of 1996.

This newspaper was photographed as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in spring 2020. It was brought to class by Alyssa Wise

Truck Driven by Sakasitz in West Germany in the 1960s This photograph shows a truck driven by a Sakasitz, a soldier serving in the 3-703rd Maintenance Battalion. Also in the Battalion was y Bethalto resident Everett Jett, who was stationed West Germany from January 1964 to June 1966. Jett transported gas to other vehicles using a gas tanker. Jett later served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. When he retunred home to Bethalto, he became a truck driver.

This photograph was digitized as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Civic Memorial High School in spring 2018. It was brought to class by Jett's grandon, Colton Hyman.
