War Ration Book from Moro, IL, for years 1943-4 | This is a war ration book that was used in Moro, IL. On the front is an image of a woman farming alongside text that reads, "Food Will Win The War." Additional text is located along the bottom of the pamphelt that says, "Compliments of Burrus Quality Hybrids. There are ration stamps inside and it is bound by a red string and on the back is a calendar with dates. Soviet Ruble | This is a Soviet Ruble, an example of Soviet currency. It is mulicolored, containing orange, red, and teal. It is in the amount of a single (1) ruble of the USSR. The production of the Soviet Rubles was the responsibility of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise or Goznak. 1936 Indian Head (Buffalo) Nickel and Half Dollar Coin | This is coinage produced by the United States, a Nickel and Half-Dollar. The smaller coin is a Buffalo Nickel that is in fair condition and was minted in 1936. The larger one is a silver half dollar in worn condition that was also minted 1936. These coins were photographed as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in spring 2020. They were brought to class by Caden Sexton. |

Glen Carbon 1893 Glass Insulator | This is a glass electrical insulator. It is made of thick, green glass. On one side of the insulator it reads "Patent/May 2 1893" and on the other it reads, "Hemingray/No. 12." It stands about 3.5 inches tall. Insulators like these are common near bike trails and creeks in Edwardsville and Glen Carbon which were part of the "Rails to Trails" conversion of lite rail corridors into community trails by the Madison County Transport starting in the 1990s. Animal Control Pet Tag | This is a gold colored Animal Control pet tag with faded lettering reading "2006 Rabies Vacc 36990 IL Dept of Agri Madison County." It was used to identify pets and let people know if they have had their rabies vaccination. 1919 Halfpenny from the UK | This is a Halfpenny from 1919 when the UK controlled India made from bronze, stating "George the Fifth, by the grace of god King of all Britain, Defennder of the Faith, Emperor of India, in Latin." By long-standing traditions, the legends of ruling British monarchs are rendered in Latin. On the front is George V's bare face and on the back is the figure of Britannia seated facing right on a rock wearing a helmet and flowing robes and she holds a trident with a shield which bears the combined crosses of the Union Flag. This coin was photographed as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in spring 2020. It was brought to class by Varsha Venigalla. The coin was given the student's mother by their grandmother when their mother came to America. |

Hartsburg outhouse replica from the 1930s | This is a doll-sized model of an outhouse built in the 1930s. It has two different bathroom doors. One was labeled "HERR" in red and the other was labeled "DAMEN" in the same red ink. There are little toilets inside each door. This object was photographed as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in spring 2020. It was brought to class by Jacob Wibben. The outhouse was created by the student's great uncle, twice removed. |

Triad High School Newspaper from May 1996 | This is an edition of the "Knightwriter", which was the Triad High School's school newspaper. This certain one is from May 1996 and goes into life at the high school and focuses on the seniors graduating in the spring of 1996.
