1936 Indian Head (Buffalo) Nickel and Half Dollar Coin This is coinage produced by the United States, a Nickel and Half-Dollar. The smaller coin is a Buffalo Nickel that is in fair condition and was minted in 1936. The larger one is a silver half dollar in worn condition that was also minted 1936.

These coins were photographed as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in spring 2020. They were brought to class by Caden Sexton.

1936 Postcard of the Second Edwardsville High School Building This is a postcard dated September 17, 1936, depicting the second Edwardsville High School Building. Today the building is home to Lincoln Middle School. The postcard is addressed to Mrs. Loretta Prettir of Wausau, Wisconsin. The message reads: "Dear Loretta my love (illegible). Bill just sent me your card from Rockford, I sure was sorry not to have been home when you went (illegible) Miluakee I been here now for 3 weeks. Bill mother broke her hips, she's in bed now for 4 weeks. I'll be home next week." September 17, 1936 November 15, 2018

1940 Ticket for Evangelical Lecture in Granite City<br /><br />
This ticket for an evangelical lecture belonged to Granite City resident Ernie J. Vaught. He attended the event at 7:30 p.m. on June 24, 1940 with his son William. The Big Tent was set up near 1800 Adams St. where Prairie Farms Dairy is now. The ticket for the event cost 35 cents. Charles Forbes Taylor (born 1899) was a traveling Baptist evangelist and author. Also featured on this card is Charles Taylor's brother, Laurie, who was also a minister, pianist, and composer. He often accompanied his brother Charles at evangelical events.

1940 Winchester Model 1912 Shotgun This shotgun is a Winchester Model 1912 internal-hammer, pump-action gun with an external tube magazine. The United States military used this type of gun in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The owner of this particular gun used it to hunt geese, deer, squirrels, turkeys, rabbits, and other animals.

This shotgun was scanned as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Civic Memorial High School in spring 2019. It was scanned by Jenna Christeson.
