	Earl Lazerson Oral History Interview	This oral history interview with Ellen Nore-Nordhouser is part of a collection of oral histories conducted as part of a research project related to the 50th Anniversary of SIUE between 2005 and 2008. Earl Lazerson speaks to what he saw the hallmarks of his legacy as President of the University, focusing on university housing, the creation of Arts and Issues, pushing for stronger undergraduate rather than doctoral programs, and the dissolution of the Experiment in Higher Education during his tenure at SIUE as a faculty member, Dean of Sciences and Technology and President. 	Earline Patterson Oral History	This oral history interview with Ellen Nore-Nordhouser is part of a collection of oral histories conducted as part of a research project related to the 50th Anniversary of SIUE between 2005 and 2008. Dr. Earline Patterson was the Director of Special Services at SIUE when this interview took place in July of 2006. In her interview, Patterson discusses her academic and employment background at several universities such as the University of Houston Clear Lake and Louis Clark Community College before coming to SIUE to work in Academic Advising. The interview focuses on the role diversity, and inclusion programs and disability services have on the student body as a whole as well as the impact they have on individual student success, but she also is careful to mention the impact that individual staff members can have on students as well as the community as a whole. The planned construction of the Academic/Student Success Center is discussed, and Patterson voices her belief about the positive impact she thinks it will have on student learning outcomes. 	Edward "Ed" Soliday Oral History	This oral history interview with Ellen Nore-Nordhouser is part of a collection of oral histories conducted as part of a research project related to the 50th Anniversary of SIUE between 2005 and 2008. This interview with Soliday discusses his youth growing up in the area and running the family hardware store in Granite City. Soliday closed the store and decided to apply for positions at SIUE working initially as Assistant to the Registrar but eventually managing a large portion of incoming endowments as well as the Arts and Issues Speaker Series. 	Eric Sturley Oral History Interview	This oral history interview with Ellen Nore-Nordhouser is part of a collection of oral histories conducted as part of a research project related to the 50th Anniversary of SIUE between 2005 and 2008. In this interview Sturley speaks on working abroad on behalf of SIUE in Nepal and Mali. His work in the Honnors Program referred to as the, Deans College. And the development of the physical design, landscape, architecture, acquisition of land, and political organization of the Alton, East St. Louis and Edwardsville campuses following his hiring after returning home from World War II. 	Gerald J.T. Runkle Oral History	This oral history interview with Ellen Nore-Nordhouser is part of a collection of oral histories conducted as part of a research project related to the 50th Anniversary of SIUE between 2005 and 2008. Runkle discusses the tumultuous years during the War in Vietnam and how the university administration responded to student led protests. The shift from the East St. Louis and Alton campuses to the Edwardsville campus, as well as faculty and community-led initiatives to raise money for land development for the Edwardsville campus. He also considers the roles of changing leadership within the one university system as well as the Edwardsville campus over time, and the growth of the Philosophy department during his tenure at SIUE . 	Janet McReynolds Oral History	This oral history interview with Ellen Nore-Nordhouser is part of a collection of oral histories conducted as part of a research project related to the 50th Anniversary of SIUE between 2005 and 2008. McReynolds discusses the EHE, otherwise known as the Experiment in Higher Education which was the pilot program at the East St. Louis Campus and her later transfer to SIUE's Edwardsville campus in the Academic Resource Center. She candidly discusses racial tensions and the inequality between campuses. McReynolds, for example, mentions the fact that many of the courses within the EHE were coded by the university differently so when students left the EHE for the "main campus" they often received no credit for courses they had already taken because it was "experimental" and was considered prepatory. McReynolds also discusses the change in administration at the Edwardsville campus such as the difficulties Barbara Teters had in her position as Vice Provost under President Earl Lazerson.
