These artifacts were brought by students to be scanned as part of a three-day lesson offered by Madison Historical on February 5, 6, and 13, 2020 at Liberty Middle School in Edwardsville. The lesson was given five class periods of students in an American history class taught by Rachel Harris.

The Yankee Doodle Boy from Fortuna, California 1983 The article is from Fortuna, CA on June 30, 1983. The article is about Harold C. Ross when he was a soldier in the Mexican Campaign, World War I, and World War II. He lived in California at the time and was well known by many people. It contains a black and white picture displaying him as well.

Wooden Mineature Figurine of Marquette Catholic High School in Alton, IL This is a decrative wooden miniature of historic Maruette Catholic High School in Alton, Illinois. Marquette is a Roman Catholic, Co-Ed High School established by the Ursuline sisters in 1927. This was bought as a graduation gift. 1981-1982 Columbia Elementary and Junior High Yearbook This item is a Columbia Elementary and Junior High School yearbook. The school was built during 1981-1982. This thin booklet use to be white but faded into beige. On the center of the cover is a blue eagle (their mascot). Inside the yearbook shows Mrs. Irene Noblin's first grade class.

1981 Cookbook Celebrating 25 Years of Women in the Farm Bureau Cookbook 25 Years: Women of the Farm Bureau is a cookbook compiled by the Madison County Farm Bureau Women's Committee in Edwardsville, Illinois. This cookbook is 490 pages worth of recipies from various families in Madison County, divided by the type of meal each recipe was meant to serve.

This cookbook was scanned as a part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in February 2020. This cookbook was contributed by Olivia Coll and her family.

Wooden Replica Figurine of the Wooden Wildey Theater This is a wooden replica of The Wildey Theater. Widley Theater was built by the Edwardsville Chapter of the International Order of Odd Fellows as an Opera House in 1909. The second floor of Widley Theater was used as a community room and the third floor was used by Odd Fellows for meetings. The theater, with its carved wooden railings, box seats, and large stage, served as the setting for many plays, operettas, community events, and later, for films.

Hamel State Bank Bicentennial U.S.A Plate This is a plate from the Hamel State Bank in 1976. This plate bought as a birthday present for a family member of Alex Fox. It was chipped in the process of moving between houses. The plate is over 30 years old and has an American flag with military soldiers on it.

1973 Raggedy Ann Ornament This object is a Raggedy Ann ornament. Raggedy Ann is a character in a series of children's books from 1880-1938. This ornament is 47 years old and was a gift to Erin Frank's Grandmother by a neighbor, Betty Matesam, to be gifted to Kendall Frank when she was born. The Frank family hangs the ornament on their Christmas tree every year.

Chinese Currency This coin was owned by Freddy An's grandparents in 1970's Beijing, China. The coin is very light compared to most coins and has been well preserved. It has a value of one yuan in Chinese currency.

1972 Madison County Plot Map of Lakewood, Jolda, and Oakdale Subdivisions in Glen Carbon This item is a Madison County Plot Map from February 5, 1972. It displays Jolda, Lakewood, and Oakdale subdivsions in Madision County, Illinois. On the map are identifiable train tracks owned by the Chicago North Railroad and Northpole Western Railroad. These neighborhoods are in Glen Carbon, Illinois. Also present on the map are geographical markers such as lakes as well as traffic roads, and identifiable land plots throughout the area.

Circa 1970s Apple Sauce Cake Recipe This is a recipe for apple sauce cake that was created circa 1970, and has since been passed down generationally through Elena Konradt's family. The paper has yellowed with age and has collected stains over time. This recipe was made every year for Elena's grandmother on her birthday.
