1908 Postcard of Leclaire in Edwardsville, Illinois | This is a postcard dated October 3, 1908 depicting a scene in Leclaire in Edwardsville, Illinois. It is addressed to Miss Martha Criley of Indianapolis, Indiana. It reads: "My dear Miss Criley, Don't you think my building and grounds are nice looking. I have every thing my own way. 1901 Culver Block Brick | This is a brick made by Culver Blocks on February 1, 1901. The item was found in Edwardsville, IL. The sides of the brick are chipped and uneven in certain spaces. The Madison County Historial Society used Culver Blocks on their redevelopment of the Plaza between the 1836 Weir Home and the Archival Library in Edwardsville Illinois for historical continuity. This brick was brought in by Skye Byrd as a part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in February 2020. |

1900s Suspension Insulator | This suspension insulator separated the line conductors and supported them electrically. This object is very rusted and also is very corroded. The material on the top is ceramic, with the reason why they use ceramic being because it's a non-conductive metal. This insulator was photographed as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in spring 2020. It was brought to class by Zachary Noga. |

1861-1865 Hand Carved Civil War Pipe | This is a dark brown rough hand carved wooden smoking pipe. John R. Dove carved this while he was fighting in the Civil War and he used it for tobacco smoking during his service. Dove served in the Illinois National Guard, 21st infantry. This wooden pipe was brought in by Quinton Kolnsberg as a part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in February 2020. |

11 Future Farmers of America Pin Awards Given to Edwardsville Resident Kenneth Linkeman in the early 1960s | These 11 Future Farmers of America pins were awarded to Edwardsville resident Kenneth Linkeman, who was the president of the Edwardsville chapter of the Illinois FFA. There is one pin for public speaking, one for soybeans, one for Chapter Star Farmer, three for small grains, and five that just have the FFA emblem. These pins were scanned as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Civic Memorial High School in spring 2019. They were brought to class by Kenneth Linkeman's grandson, Keaton Linkeman. |

100,000 Reichsbank Mark from German Depression | This German Reichsbank Mark is an example of the currency issued following the German Depression Following World War I, which resulted in massive amounts of hyperinflation. The inflation began in 1914 and ended in 1923. The currency was completely revamped at the end of 1923 with the creation of the currency of the Retenmark. The Retenmark was later replaced in 1924 by the Reichsmark. This bill was brought in by Erik Petersen as a part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in February 2020. |
