Cross Necklace from 1960 | Lexi Raker's Great Grandmother gave her a very valuable cross necklace soon before she passed away. It's a small, silver cross necklace with the top hook reading: "Amen." The necklace was made circa 1960 in Rome. The necklace is very thin so it is very fragile. Declaration of Covenants and Restriction for Burns Farm from 1991 | This is a paper copy in black and white of Burns Farm Subdivision bylaws. It was used to tell the people who lived in this neighborhood how to build their houses and other rules they had to follow. This document was photographed as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in spring 2020. It was brought to class by Eva Witt. It was given to the Witt family when they bought their house in the neighborhood. |

Circa 1900 Iron Cast Nutcracker | This iron dog was manufactured by the Harper Supply Company in Chicago, Illinois. In the 1940s, its mould was destroyed for brass. Its tail is used to open the dog's mouth for use as a nutcracker. This object was digitized as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in spring 2020. March 29, 1903 Wedding Photo of Henry & Rebecca ‘nee Deye Balster | This is a wedding photo of Anna Rebbeca Dyee Balster and Henry Balster. She raised Arlene Renken. This is part of a collection which includes the marriage certificate of the couple who were wed in Bethalto, Illinois on March 29th in 1903. This artifact was contributed by Rachel Harris in February of 2020 as part of a visit to her classroom at Liberty Middle School. |
