Abbie Schaefer

I have lived in Madison County almost my entire life, and attended grade and high school in the Edwardsville School District. I have always been interested in history; as a child, I was the nerdy kid who checked out the same books on Egypt from the library week after week. Growing up in such a historically rich area prompted me to dedicate my studies to the field of history in college, and I have been expanding on that love for my community by becoming an Undergraduate Research Assistant for Madison Historical. Currently, I am a student at SIUE majoring in History with a specialization in Applied Historical Methods. I also am working on minors in Anthropology and Music Performance.
