Peters Train Station before 1913. These buildings were located between the tracks just west of Illinois Route 157. Gottieb Schumachers store is in the background, presently Judy’s Inn Tavern. The building attached is the freight house that is used for unclaimed freight. |

Clover Leaf Train Station at Glen Carbon |
This station was located east of Meridian Road between the tracks just north of Miner Park. The Clover Leaf later became the Nickel Plate Railroad. J. F. Dickman was the railroad agent. Coal mine No. 1 is at the far right. A brick structure of the mine is now occupied as a residence. Meridian road is on the far left. |

Train Arriving at the Glen Carbon Train Station |
Train arrives at the Glen Carbon train station to pick up passengers. Both the Illinois Central Railroad and Clover Leaf railroad provided passenger service to St. Louis several times a day, beginning at 6:00 am. One could spend the say in St. Louis, watch the Veiled Prophet parade, and still catch the 10:10 pm train home. |
