	Edward Asadorian Oral History Interview	This oral history interview with Edward Asadorian was part of oral histories conducted in the fall 2001 semester of History 447: Oral History. Born to Armenian immigrant parents in the 1920s, Edward Asadorian talks in-depth about the importance of retaining his cultural roots and passing those traditions on to his own kids. 	Edward "Ed" Soliday Oral History	This oral history interview with Ellen Nore-Nordhouser is part of a collection of oral histories conducted as part of a research project related to the 50th Anniversary of SIUE between 2005 and 2008. This interview with Soliday discusses his youth growing up in the area and running the family hardware store in Granite City. Soliday closed the store and decided to apply for positions at SIUE working initially as Assistant to the Registrar but eventually managing a large portion of incoming endowments as well as the Arts and Issues Speaker Series. 	East Alton Wood River High Senior Ring	This item is an East Alton-Wood River High School class ring from May 1997. It is gold and has a cross country runner on one side with the year, 1997 and on the other side are buildings with the name Shaun along with East Alton-Wood River High. There is a gem on the top of the ring and on the inside it has Shaun L. Manley engraved. This ring was brought in by Jessica Manley as a part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in February 2020.	1997-5	March 4, 2020
	Early Recipients of Heart Transplants at Barnes Hospital in the 1980s	This photograph shows some of the first recipients of a heart transplant at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, today Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Barnes started performing heart transplants in 1985. This photograph was scanned as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Civic Memorial High School in spring 2019. 	Early 1900s Railroad Spike	This was a spike used to secure base plates to the railroad in the early 1900's, it is made out of steel that has now rusted over. They were mass produced because of the amount of railroads at the time. This railroad spike was photographed as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Liberty Middle School in spring 2020. 	Earline Patterson Oral History	This oral history interview with Ellen Nore-Nordhouser is part of a collection of oral histories conducted as part of a research project related to the 50th Anniversary of SIUE between 2005 and 2008. Dr. Earline Patterson was the Director of Special Services at SIUE when this interview took place in July of 2006. In her interview, Patterson discusses her academic and employment background at several universities such as the University of Houston Clear Lake and Louis Clark Community College before coming to SIUE to work in Academic Advising. The interview focuses on the role diversity, and inclusion programs and disability services have on the student body as a whole as well as the impact they have on individual student success, but she also is careful to mention the impact that individual staff members can have on students as well as the community as a whole. The planned construction of the Academic/Student Success Center is discussed, and Patterson voices her belief about the positive impact she thinks it will have on student learning outcomes. Earl Lazerson speaks to what he saw the hallmarks of his legacy as President of the University, focusing on university housing, the creation of Arts and Issues, pushing for stronger undergraduate rather than doctoral programs, and the dissolution of the Experiment in Higher Education during his tenure at SIUE as a faculty member, Dean of Sciences and Technology and President.
