Jett served in the 3-703rd Maintenance Battalion, in which he transported gas to other vehicles using this tanker. Jett later served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. When he retunred home to Bethalto, he became a truck driver. This photograph was digitized as part of a Madison Historical class visit to Civic Memorial High School in spring 2018. At the time the motel was owned and operated by Wally and Ruth Nagel, who purchased the motel in 1958 before the construction of I-70 through Highland.
